Terms of Service

Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using Drop In ("the Service"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using Drop In, you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you may not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Drop In provides private shared spaces for families and close groups — drop-in video rooms, chat, shared memories, stories, games, and an optional paid Fireside subscription that unlocks premium features for everyone in a space. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of the Service, with reasonable notice of material changes where possible.

3. Accounts and Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. To access certain features you must create an account and agree to provide accurate information, keep your credentials secure, accept responsibility for activity under your account, and notify us of unauthorized use. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms; you may delete your account at any time.

4. Subscriptions and Billing

Some features require a paid subscription. Subscriptions are billed in advance on a recurring basis through our payment processor (Stripe) and renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you keep paid features until then. Fees already paid are non-refundable except where required by law. We may change subscription pricing with advance notice to subscribers; changes apply from your next renewal.

5. Your Content

You retain ownership of the content you and your group share through the Service (messages, photos, videos, recordings, and similar material). By using the Service you grant Drop In a limited license to store, process, and display that content solely to provide the Service to you and the people you share it with. We claim no other rights over your content.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to violate laws, infringe others' rights, upload malicious or unlawful content, harass others, gain unauthorized access to the Service or other users' data, disrupt the Service, or share account credentials.

7. AI-Assisted Features

Some features use artificial intelligence to generate content (for example, prompts, summaries, or games built from your group's activity). AI output may contain inaccuracies and is provided for entertainment and convenience only — it is not professional advice, and you are responsible for how you use it.

8. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, incorporated by reference.

9. Third-Party Services

The Service integrates with third-party providers (payment, hosting, email, video, and analytics). You are responsible for complying with their terms where applicable; we are not responsible for their content, policies, or practices.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, DROP IN SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, OR DATA. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim.

12. Governing Law & Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Drop In operates. Disputes shall first be attempted informally by contacting hello@dropinto.app; if unresolved within 30 days, either party may pursue resolution through the courts in that jurisdiction.

13. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time, posting the update here, revising the "Last updated" date, and emailing account holders of material changes. Continued use constitutes acceptance.

14. Severability & Entire Agreement

If any provision is unenforceable, the remainder stays in effect. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement regarding the Service.
